R.E.B., loved your "Analyst America" analogy. Well said.
Off topic: what is the criteria for garnering a recurring (or non-recurring for that matter) role as a guest analyst/manager on CNBC? Do I need to push someone's button? Do I snail-mail a resume' with my track record to a certain CNBC producer (that sounds too simple)? Do I need to fly to NYC and spend a week or two buying certain people cocktails? Would refraining from bashing Maria and other CNBC personalities aid my cause? Are there certain people who I need to suck up to? Do I need to hire a PR Agent? I know there must be at least one opening, since Jim Cramer was exiled to Fox News...what is the proper course of action if I wanted to fill his CNBC slot?
Just curious...I've done the whole media gamut (Dow Jones Newswire, TV, radio, newspapers, talk shows, etc.) here in New Orleans, looking to take the next step, and my investment track record speaks for itself. How does a young guy like myself make the next leap? There are a few talking heads at CNNfn who I worked with in their pre-CNNfn days (news anchors, reporters, etc), but of course, CNBC would be the preferred avenue of choice. Do I send tapes of my local TV guest appearances on investment-related shows to the producers? Any suggestions/thoughts would be much appreciated.
