It's ringing !!!!! Hello, Mojave Phonebooth. No Way. Is it really? Yeah, this is....... I finally got through !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doug and his girlfriend live near LA. They drove about 200 miles to camp in the picturesque Mojave Phonebooth National Park last night. Charlie, famous for being the only person that lives anyway near the phone, stopped by to take a few calls and discuss the history of the area with the tourist. Charlie's wife hates the Phonebooth. Doug took the phone off the hook for a few hours last night because “it just rings constantly.” As soon as he replace the receiver this morning, it rang. He took calls from all over the United States including a radio station in North Carolina. Most of the international callers were from Germany and New Z-land. He answered a few calls from France and some of those other Euro-type countries. Most of the callers said they planned to visit the world famous Phone Booth within the next 24 months. Doug said that, although the desert is beautiful, having the opportunity to not only view history, but participate in it is an experience that he not soon forget.
