Your understanding of the geopolitical reality in the Indian subcontinent seems totally outdated. I Agree: Reminds me of the vestigeal remnants of past colonialism of by-gone era. DIPY is trying to revive the recalcitrant Colonial legacy in a new millennium form: a foot here, a foot there. Indians know this like the back of their hands and will not allow another toehold, stranglehold or chokehold or any other hold for that matter in India or Kashmir. India's foreign policy is based on self-interest just like America,s and has stayed the course through 50 yrs of independence. America wants to keep its nose out of Kashmir and Pakistan knows it.
