Landis/Triquint/Wall Street Week: Following was part of conversation on Wall Street Week: Rukeyser: "...a lot of people pick technology stocks. What are your special methods?" Landis: "We try to take advantage of our home field advantage. We're in the middle of silicon valley. ...Every stock picker in our shop comes out of the technology sector, not out of the financial industry..." Rukeyser: "At present prices what are some of your favorites now?" Landis: "Well, on the big cap side we like QualCom, which is really taking the wireless industry by the scruff of the neck. On the smaller cap side we like a software company called Concord communications; which allows you to sort of navigate your network and spot the traffic jams. Something you didn't need to do five years ago. We also like a tiny little chip manufacture called Triquint semiconductor, which is a great little RF manufacture. And the nice thing about chip companies is you can buy their products all the time and you don't know it. But break open your cell phone and there's a great chance there is a Triquint chip inside." Triquint is a GREAT company and I'm LONG on TQNT. fg
