Reading the Thread Summary (#Subject-28776) this weekend and focussing a great deal on the order execution entering/ exiting , for direct order platforms...
Seems (Steve =PaloAlto has a preference for ARCA), but i'm sure I'll be in for a period of bloody-knuckles :-))) but it will be entirely worth the cost of the band -aids! LOL!

Last Fri, Mon, Tues, the cancel-order function on E*trash was not available for the entirety of those days and with live broker's being 3-5mins to reach normally, though On Fast markets 5-15 mins the norm.

The entire week, during market-downdrafts or gaps, almost impossible to enter an order without 2,3,4 trys every time, and other times of the day, usually 1-2 trys is the norm. Yesterday, absolutely no realtime trade-confirmations the entire day.Trading page crashed twice=log in, log out...then pray!
(I had just bought 2K shrs of a fast moving IPO=DGIN at the time, when the trading page failed, fortunately my position had improved 10 pts by the time i got the site to function....and still sold to soon.LOL!

"the Way The World Wants To Trade"? I think not, i'd rather walk across the Mojave, with only a bottle of seawater!

Now can you imagine how these Online broker sites are going to function during the heavier volume days in the markets coming up in the next few months? Only one answer...use Etrade only as a back-up, and move a majority of funds to a Direct-order platform. Years before
I became a Gemologist/Gem Dealer, I was a stone cutter(still do it for relaxation), had to get used to bruised Knuckles.... I'm sure I'll
learn the ins & out's, perhaps with a little help from this thread.

thanks for pointing out the distinction=Broker & Direct Order

*But with MB or Whatley for instance you do have a broker, as well as direct order, though they are a little pricey.

regards,
