<OT, kinda> Look again: Microsoft's option program involves selling puts, which are generally thought of as bets* that a stock will fall.* I can see where you could think these is some potential ambiguity, but if the writer had intended "selling" to be the subject of the second predicate, she would have used "is", not "are", as in: "selling puts, which is generally thought of as a bet..."
