** TO ALL ** At one point I suggested the following in post # 1116:

"Do you think CGI can get Ameritech IT ? I have a feeling they are next on CGI's outsourcing prospects list. This should also be a huge contract.
Investment in CGI is now transferred to BCE (from Bell Canada) and Ameritech will own 20$ of Bell Canada. With Monty and Sirois on Board, anything is possible!!!"

Well, take a look at the following PR:

dailynews.yahoo.com

and this one too:

dailynews.yahoo.com

What usually happens following a merger? Streamlining of operations. They'll end-up with too many IT personnel. And if you read the Ameritech PR, one of the conditions of this merger is that:

"Under the deal, SBC-Ameritech would enter 30 new markets within 30 months to compete with established local phone companies. It also would establish a separate subsidiary to provide advanced telecommunications services such as high-speed Internet access."

Other extracts:

"WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal regulators are nearing a decision on the fate of the proposed merger between Ameritech Corp. (NYSE:AIT - news) and SBC Communications, which would create the nation's largest local telephone company."

"Industry officials and analysts have predicted that the deal - which brings together two regional Bell companies - would go through, but with conditions to preserve competition in local markets. The combined business would control 57 million, or one-third, of the nation's local phone lines spread across 13 states."

"The combination of San Antonio-based SBC, the dominant provider of local phone service in eight states, and Chicago-based Ameritech, dominant local carrier in five states, will create a communications powerhouse with revenues of over $40 billion and control one-third of U.S. phone lines."

After reading all of this, what do you think?

Personnaly, CGI SBC and Ameritech have to wait until next week for FCC approval, which is imminent!!!! and THEN !!!!

Come to mama!!! I just feel it in my bones! It has to be that. BCE + Ameritech + SBC = the largest telecom alliance in North America! With CGI on the service side, what a combination!

What does it mean for CGI:

1) Large outsourcing contracts from Ameritech and SBC
2) Increased headcount after integrating IT staff from theses 2 companies
3) Instant and Significant presence in the US
4) Worldwide recognition for CGI's specialty in the telecom arena
5) Synergy with the largest telecom powerhouse that will lead to other contracts and alliances worldwide

And here's another point: Notice the timing of CGI's Microsoft alliance. Just before this BIG NEWS. Cause that's were the potential $500M of revenues are gona come from!!!!!

I could be smoking pot here people but pieces of the puzzle are lining-up so well it's hard not to imagine the rest.

What do you think? Does it make sense?

Have you heard similar rumors?
