industry whether he prefers an "Intel Inside" or a chip from AMD.


I guess you just did (ask). Absolutely insist on Intel as do all companies that make servers or PCs with a more serious mission than playing games. If for no other reason, it's because of Intel's far superior manufacturing and process control, yields, and therefore, reliability.

Another part of the article mentioned what ifs about competition at the chip level from HP, Sun and IBM. Lord help the guy if he actually thinks anyone of those three other than IBM who admits they don't want to go head to head with Intel again can actually be a threat to Intel.
