I don't have the answer for you. Others might. I never compare two stocks or indices. I ask you to think about some things:

What does dow or rut have to do with each other?

Have you tested the results of your MA cross? How did it compare to others? Did you use all MA forms in test? Did you change periods?

A system test will not reflect reality. Its power come from comparing systems under the same constrains.

For those that feel the indices reflect the market, in your attempt to predict or measure the indices, you expend alot of effort and time that could be used on your stock, which may not even know a index exist.
