The Financial Post reports in a Hot Stock corporate profile in its Thursday edition that the market is keeping a wary eye on Minco Mining & Metals' venture in China. Reporter John Schreiner says that almost without exception, mining companies that have sought to explore and develop properties in China this decade have been disappointed. Newsletter writer Chris Bunka, publisher of Bunka's Outsider's Overture, has watched several juniors fail in the country. He says it is not that difficult to strike a deal, but it is difficult to have the Chinese bureaucracy come through with anything. He says the Chinese do not want to give up control of anything. Minco president Ken Cai would like to prove Mr. Bunka to be too pessimistic. With few analysts paying much attention to juniors, especially those in difficult places, Minco commissioned a "third party review" from Eric and David Coffin of Vanguard Consulting, the writers of The Hard Rock Analyst newsletter, who assert the stock is undervalued.
