TLC, James Dean did drive that Porsche over the edge of Mulholland to his death. But in the movie "Rebel Without A Cause" he drove that '50 Merc - took off in it when Natalie Wood gave the "Go" signal? Can't remember if he died in the Merc in the movie or not, but picture JD's shy smile, long lock of hair in his face, arm hangin out the window, cigs in tshirt sleeve, sittin behind the wheel of the black Merc. Are these AutoMObile Artists you speak of from Out West? You do know your history. Recall the nights on Van Nuys Blvd. in the 70's; wildest cars from all these custom shops out by Long Beach & West L.A. Sure would love to see that "Cadzilla" Cadillac if U ever find it on a link! The neo-classic true-to-theme lowriders like those and the surfmobiles (like say a '60 Malibu wagon) are my greatest favorites. The guy with the Merc will paint it a charcoal black, matte diamond dust, deep & unshiny Correctamundo! Shudder at that bright red Right Shape Merc on the link! My Life Story In Cars - (all original & true to theme LOL) '57 Chevy (turquoise post coupe w/ white roof, AM, auto) '68 LeMans (verdoro green 2-door, black roof, auto on floor, black vinyl buckets, positraction, reverb stereo), '67 VW Poptop Van (white, 4 on floor, orig camper setup left IN) '60 Studebaker Lark (2-tone red&white, bench leather, 3-speed) '77 Olds Cutlass (dark blue, beautiful when new, kept too long) '82 Volvo (Smurf Blue, 4 on floor, beautiful, unreliable mech's) '97 Taurus Wagon (silver ufo-mobile, grey leather, heavy suspension, handles & rides light like the LeMans) Its now. Thinking I might get a '68 LeMans again as a toy & spare if I see one. Or could enjoy designing a lowrider from something stodgy but it'd have to be the right style and running like a top already or it wouldn't be fun. 909s, Joan |
