Please reread my post from which you made extractions. Notice that the reporter (Peter Brown) in the bogus IBM story did not quote any IBM people by name but instead referred to "sources." Please notice that in my post I said I find reports more believable when the reporter directly quotes a person AND that the person quoted is in a position to know what he or she is talking about. Finally please realize that I criticized Brown heavily for his report and I even gave the links showing this criticizm. So please don't send me any more posts asking me to defend him or otherwise defend the media. But if you want to go on record even more firmly as insisting that the quote of Avo is incorrect then please feel free to do so. As for Peter Brown who reported the bogus IBM report, I see him listed on the Electronic News website: Peter Brown Assistant Managing Editor, Consumer Electronics pbrown@cahners.com 408.345.4441 But I searched for his reports and didn't find anything since July 12. So perhaps he has been promoted from reporter to Assistant Managing Editor. Notice his email and phone number. Please direct any future complaints to him, not me.
