Sales Tax
Sales tax is charged only for orders shipped to Tennessee and California (both 8.25%). Sales tax is not charged on prescription drugs.
Accepted Insurance Plans
PlanetRx has agreements with many major health insurance companies and PBMs (prescription benefit management companies) for prescription drug coverage. Our network of insurers is growing rapidly and we are signing up new plans every day.
How It Works
The first time you fill a prescription with us, we ask you to enter information about your insurance coverage, if any. We'll check to see if your insurer is part of our network and send you an email confirmation. This usually takes about one business day.
Once we've confirmed that your insurer is part of our network, you'll be able to fill prescriptions at PlanetRx, knowing that your prescription costs are covered. We will store all your insurance information in your account. You won't need to enter it again, unless you change insurance plans.
When we receive your prescription, we will verify your coverage with your insurer. Based on your insurance plan, we will determine your portion of the prescription cost and charge your credit card for that amount. With most plans, this will be a flat co-pay; other plans may require you to meet a deductible first, or to pay a percentage of the price.
Then your prescription will be filled and shipped. You will receive an email confirmation indicating the final price of your prescription. |
