I don't think it's a market call on the net stocks at all. He wouldn't be downgrading stocks in a speech. The way I read the article is that he thinks there will be a shakeout. There are indeed too many companies of questionable prospects coming to market, and a culling-out process is inevitable. Does this mean to sell the leaders? That's not what I hear him saying. I hear him saying diversify among the 10 or 20 best-positioned names. eBay is in the top four, IMO.
