I agree with most of the steps ARCA takes to fill the 5000 shares buy order with the following exception:

Since MMs can wait for 30 seconds before rejecting your preference, it's probably best to take the offer at REDI for 400 shares at 80 1/16 before dividing the remaining 400 shares among the three market makers.

If I don't have RediPlus or other faster execution systems and I really want to buy INTC as quickly as possible at this hypothetical juncture, assuming the market is fast, I would use ARCA for 4600 shares with limit of 80 while simultaneously take out the 400 shares at 1/16 at REDI thru SNET preference.

As well, in most cases, I find the RediPlus system considerably faster than Terra Nova's ARCA.
