Sonki: I hate to agree with twister, but that post from the Microsoft thread is just utter nonsense. The Street.com article talks about a sensible and legal hedging maneuver associated with a stock buyback that involves selling puts as the Street.com article points out (correcting the original writer who thought Microsoft was buying rather than selling the puts).

If Ballmer in fact talked down Microsoft after either the company or he personally bought puts, then he is a criminal manipulator. If the allegation can be proved, he gets fired and goes to jail.

So this guy who is 'tired of posting to people who don't know anything' and asserts that Ballmer would never make the 'rookie mistake' of accidentally opening his mouth and hurting his own stock, evidently believes Ballmer would commit the professional non-mistake of public criminal manipulation?

I'm afraid that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Don't get me wrong: I'm sure Ballmer is some kind of criminal. But not that kind. That fantasy is about as subtle as accusing him of knocking over a 7-11.

Regards,
