Read who their customers are.

Through June 30, Akamai earned $404,000 in revenues, with operating expenses of $10 million. But Charles Lutstein, an analyst with Forrester Research (Nasdaq: FORR), says the balance sheet will even out. Akamai signs up clients on contracts with terms ranging from 3 to 12 months, and it earns revenues based on the amount of content that goes through its servers. Therefore, says Mr. Lutstein, as traffic continues to grow, so does the activity on FreeFlow. Currently, Apple accounts for 75 percent of those revenues, and the second-largest client accounts for 14 percent, according to Akamai's SEC filing. "Akamai needs to grow and broaden their customer base," says Mr. Lutstein. |
