A bit of history:

Mike is absolutely right that I started my telecom gorilla game on his Fool thread on May 22, 1998 with one half weight in the Q. (This turns out, according to his analysis since, to be about when the Q tornado started) Mike kept me posting updates but there was not much interest. Then along came the Ericy agreement. So I wrote to Mike on his thread and in the course of making a case which I hoped might interest him (and others) suggested that the Q had crossed the chasm. This did pique his interest.

So when he first posted here he cited my calling the Q to his attention to give me credit. The joke was that no one here had ever heard of me and assumed that he was referring the chaz who had posted here. I didn't even know that this thread existed at that time and didn't learn of the SI G&K thread until after Uncle Frank posted on the Q thread inviting people interested in the Q to post here. I did.

Actually my frustration when I first started posting on this thread, which led to considerable misunderstanding and noise, was that what was so clear to me - that the Q was the only new gorilla in years - was so slow to gain acceptance here.

So yes, I am the person who brought the Q to Mike's attention in a way that caused him to undertake serious analysis in depth (as he is so expert in doing) in the spring of 1999.

And yes, he is quite correct he did not make any statement that the Q had crossed the chasm - I did.
