Austin, Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Leaders of the high tech industry -- including Michael Dell, chief executive of Dell Computer Corp. and John Chambers, president and chief executive of Cisco Systems Inc. -- will endorse Texas Gov. George W. Bush for president in a USA Today advertisement Friday, according to Bush's campaign.

The advertisement, paid for by the Bush campaign, and will run in the New York, San Francisco and Seattle editions of the newspaper and includes the names of more than 150 people who are ''leaders in the new economy of information technology . . . and all endorse George W. Bush for president,'' the campaign said in a press release.

According to the release, others named in the ad include James Barksdale, managing partner at the Barksdale Group and former CEO of Netscape; Carol Bartz, CEO and COB of Autodesk, Inc.; Richard Egan, founder of EMC Corporation; Tom Engibous, president and CEO of Texas Instruments; Robert Herbold, executive Vice President and COO for Microsoft Corporation; Ray Lane, president of Oracle; Gordon Moore, chairman emeritus of Intel; and Leon Pomata, president of PRC Inc.

The ad is being run in conjunction with Bush's visits to Silicon Valley, California and New York.
