JB, thanks yours. Re your two points, soft handoff while on the call, and pricing.

Maurice and others would certainly agree with you on the pricing issue (fill up the capacity as fast as you can, with inexpensive minutes). I disagree, mostly because I believe it will be hard to raise prices later. I believe management's assertion that demand will exceed available capacity, and I want rates as high as possible when capacity is filled.

On the soft handoff between the satellite and cellular systems--This probably isn't as much of an issue as it seems. Most calls by G* subscribers won't be on the edge of the cellular system. You're either in the cells or out of range. As long as the phone can automatically pick out the proper system to start on (which I understand is the way it's designed), then most of the problem is addressed. I agree that you don't want the user to have to stand there moving a switch back and forth to select cellular or sat, of course.
