There are enough buyers who will refuse anything but Intel to keep it solidly in the high end for a long time pretty much regardless of what chips are shipping. AMD has an excellent chance of attaining a respectable chunk of that market and making some money - finally. If the Athlon-successful scenario becomes the outcome, AMD'll make infinitely more money than they have been making for awhile, while Intel will make a little less.

I was just returning a little of Paul's bombast - next time I'll PM him. Intel couldn't avoid having substantial sales in the high end if they tried - and I know that you and a number of other extremely capable people are all working hard to... avoid avoiding? :-)
