Lee, what makes you so sure the Fed is going to keep a hostile stance? I just posted that John Berry, who is THE Fed insider, thinks the odds are very low that will happen. What gets me about this thread is that every scenario posted on this thread is based on not what will happen based on fact, but what individual posters would like to happen; those scenarios that would help their positions. (NOT DIRECTED TO YOU PERSONALLY)

If John Berry says the fed is not going to raise and not going to issue hostile words, I trust him as he is THE expert on the Fed as most know that he is fed information from the Fed.

That doesn't mean I'm going to load up on way out of the money calls on the S&P, but it does tell me (along with the current fed funds rate), that the odds of a hostile fed this late in the year are totally exaggerated.

Good luck to you. I hope the market crashes for your sake and everyone long on earth loses their shirt, from the novice daytraders to the old ladies that depend on their 10% per year return on their mutual funds.

But I doubt it will.
