Intelligence needs to be focused productively for society

Who is to oversee this focused intelligence? I remind you that our most brilliant ideas and inventions have come from a sole individual thinking at a desk or tinkering at a workbench. No overarching committee was overseeing them. The "light bulb experiences" these geniuses had were a product of their independent free-wheeling minds, not the product of some committee overseeing them.

I agree that more education usually leads to better understanding of others. I would add that travel does the same job, but better.
