Denni, about your new HP computer:

1) The Celeron shares the same processor core as a Pentium II. The only difference is that while the PII has 512K of off-chip cache running at 1/2 speed, Celeron has 128K of on-die cache running at full speed. Performance of a Celeron 500 is about 90% of a Pentium III 500 MHz.

2) The system uses PC100 SDRAM because it has an 810 Whitney chipset with integrated graphics. The processor bus runs at 66 MHz, but the memory runs at 100 MHz because the integrated graphics can use the extra bandwidth available.

3) Overall, you've got a great computer for the money. The only weakness of your system is the rather weak 3D performance (compared to the latest AGP cards). And your system doesn't have an AGP slot, so you can't really upgrade the graphics. But that doesn't matter if you don't care about your 3D games running at 60 frames per second at high resolutions.
