I'm sorry to say that it isn't quite so nice a day here. It's a bit blustery...about 40 F and there were a few big wet snowflakes during the night... Saw several large flocks of Canada geese flying over the farm on their way south... More and more, there is that old familiar feeling of winter waiting in the wings... But I won't complain too much... it's been a long, hot, dry summer and, so far, the bad weather seems to be holding off. Did the rounds of an artists' studio tour out in the countryside near here yesterday. Beautiful day for it. Visited a lovely pottery studio in an old barn at the edge of a creek by a maple forest. Stopped at another studio just in time to watch some raku-fired pieces being taken out of a barrel kiln situated in a garden surrounded by flowerbeds and a goldfish pond... It was a great way to spend the day. Will be going on another of my favourite studio tours next weekend (which is Thanksgiving Weekend up here BTW). Probably squeeze in another hiking trip up in the Gatineaus as well... Got to make the best of autumn before winter closes in... (-:
