Advanced Deposition Technologies, Inc. Sells Technology License to FCP in Bremen, Germany Two New Microwave Products Are Commercialized
TAUNTON, Mass., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Deposition Technologies, Inc. (A.D.TECH) (Nasdaq: ADTC) (BSI: DTI) announced today the expansion of its technology licensing agreement with FCP (Flexible Carton Partners) in Bremen, Germany to include flexible packaging. The agreement is in addition to the license sold to FCP in 1998 for rigid carton applications. This license from A.D.TECH allows FCP to use the Company's Safety Susceptor(R) patented products in the packaging and distribution of its pizza, french fries, pastry, popcorn, breads and meat products within several countries in Europe.
Additionally, A.D.TECH announced that two of its new microwave products are now being sold commercially in the United States and the United Kingdom. In the United States, the Company's Safety Susceptor(R) product is being used exclusively by Weaver Popcorn, one of the country's largest microwave popcorn manufacturers.
In the United Kingdom, A.D.TECH and its affiliates are selling patented and patent pending microwave paperboard trays to United Biscuits for its microwave pizza packaging. United Biscuits is one of the country's largest food companies. These new paperboard trays provide superior browning and crisping of pizzas and utilize A.D.TECH's patented Safety Susceptor(R). Rick Cowen, A.D.TECH's Vice President of Microwave Sales, stated, "These new products for pizza provide significant improvements for microwave heating. In the immediate future we will expand our customer base in Europe and begin to market these new products in the United States where pizza is one of the largest microwave frozen foods."
