McPanic - re: 'How can a PhD process expert like Yousef miss a whole ramp from 300Mhz to 750 Mhz? Unreal! "

You are UNREAL !

Yousef DIDN'T MISS a 300 MHz to 750 MHz ramp.

AMD CHANGED PROCESSES at least TWICE !

Yousef's orignal point was that AMD's 300 MHz process - on their original 0.25 micron process - wouldn't get much higher in speed.

And YOUSEF WAS RIGHT !

AMD has made at least TWO MAJOR process changes since that time, the most extensive being the 0.18 micron front end used on the AthFLOP processor.

Get a grip - and try to learn something about wafer fab process evolution.
