Paul, <The K6-2++....w/128k L2 on die>

... has got to be a joke, since the K6 core already has 64K of L1 cache, and the basic rule-of-thumb is to have at least a 4:1 ratio when it comes to the size of your L2 cache. There's no way that a 128K L2 cache is going to help K6-2 catch up to Celeron. If anything, that L2 cache is only going to serve as a marketing ploy to try and lift up the bargain-basement image of the K6-2.

Better to just shrink K6-3 to the 0.18 micron process. Or even shrink K6-2 and jack up the clock speeds.
