Sure, but LASIK requires surgical skill, while PRK does not, while each provides the same outcome.

My PRK's temporary discomfort lasted only for the first day or two, and my contacts were removed by day 3. I didn't even NEED steroid eyedrops, though I took a modest amount for the first 2-3 months. I've read the data on outcomes and steroid regimens. No one I know is willing to do LASIK, simply because of the flap cutting. All they want is a zap.

You watch, now that transepithelial ablation ("no-touch") PRK is approved for marketing in U.S., those who can do it will start taking market share away from LASIK docs. I believe it's done in Honolulu Hawaii, and I won't be surprised if it spreads. Apparently, LASIK is losing favor in Europe in favor of modern PRK methods.

The LVC market will top out far below its potential if LASIK is pushed to the exclusion of modern PRK methods.
