None of the 3 companies you mentioned (HP, Sun and Microsoft) run high-volume production support apps like Intel does. Of the three, HP comes the closest.

About construction management - this is where Intel's replication prowess comes into play. Facility Design ceases to be a barrier to entry after the first few, if you are building exactly the same.

Granted, Exodus currently has more expertize in the business, but in a short period of time (6 months?), Intel should be there too. I am not saying that Intel will wipe Exodus out. Only that there would be extreme pricing pressure on the latter.

McDonalds and Con Agra - the example had no relevance to
