Karen -

The SNCF said in a statement that all trains, including those on subway lines, would stop between 11:55 p.m. and 0:15 a.m. The SNCF said it has taken all precautions to ward off any problems due to the Y2K bug but that it wanted to "respond to the anxiety" of passengers.

Sacre bleu!

And this is from the country that was quoted in "The Economist" that Y2K was an American plot to torpedo the EURO in order to keep the American dollar on top...? Amazing.

Very smart move.

Here in Boston, they announced recently that the First Night celebration would ring in the New Year at 7pm in conjunction with 12am in Greenwich.

Again... very smart.
