SLMsoft.com Y2K readiness SLMsoft.com Inc ESP.A Shares issued 13,131,226 1999-10-04 close $7.55 Monday Oct 4 1999 Ms. Nancy Chan-Palmateer reports In 1998, SLMsoft.com undertook a Year 2000 strategy to address and review the impact of the Y2K readiness of its solution suite. The company's Y2K initiative was managed in accordance with its ISO 9001 certified quality systems, methodologies, and processes. SLMsoft.com's core suite of software solutions has been developed using four digits and modern programming language and is therefore Year 2000 compliant. SLMsoft.com undertook assessment, testing and validation of the Year 2000 preparedness of both its internal operating, financial and administrative systems and material third-party products and internal systems of customers that are integrated with the company's software product suite. In this regard, SLMsoft.com: evaluated its date-dependent code, internally developed software, acquired software, third-party developed software and hardware; modified and completed end-to-end testing of material products and internal systems that were interdependent with customers and suppliers; obtained verification from its material third-party vendors and suppliers that their systems and software were Year 2000 compliant or what their plans were to make ready; and scheduled a dedicated contingency team available during and after year-end to address any possible Year 2000 issues. In light of the uncertainty as to the breadth and type of Year 2000 issues that could arise, the company has not developed specific contingency plans. Rather, the dedicated contingency team will respond to each Year 2000 issue as and when it arises. In certain circumstances, implementation of Y2K-ready solutions or upgrades has been delayed to accommodate client schedules. SLMsoft.com believes that it has taken all the reasonable steps to be Year 2000 compliant. However, it is not possible to guarantee that certain aspects of the Year 2000 issue affecting the company, including those related to customers, suppliers and other third parties will not materially affect the company.
