We take this warning to be more evidence that there is a Y2K induced slowdown in enterprise IT budgets.

Yes... the big guys (customers) who've spent lots of money ($100 million plus isn't big money to these folks) on Y2K are absolutely entering a freeze period. Nothing new goes into production. PERIOD!

So those 100+ P/E stocks that are counting on making their numbers in the 4Q99 are going to get hammered.

delay in finalizing a large contract. is going to a very familiar refrain.
