kash,

another scrap on the GamePC Coppermine fantasy.

infohq.com

"October 1 - Correction: Pentium III 600B beats Athlon 600 MHz per GamePC - Originally, we reported that GamePC ran an Intel 600 MHz Coppermine CPU against a 600 MHz Athlon and the Coppermine out-performed the Athlon. GamePC has since corrected their earlier statement and now have benchmarks to show that a Pentium IIIB (the "B" designation means it is one of the new Pentiums that use the 135 MHz front side bus) with an overclocked Voodoo3 card beat out a similarly configured AMD Athlon 600 MHz system in Quake III speed tests. For more information and test results visit GamePC."

Could it be GamePC "really" was using a Coppermine and now are covering their tracks? They violated the Coppermine NDA? Fantasies are fun!

Stay Tooooned!
