Jozef you have been a long time contributor, so I usially respect your opinion. However this comment is flat out wrong:
"I don't see the static as a problem at all, from the limited experience. My nanny has an AT&T cell-phone and I think the voice quality is consistently better than our Sprint CDMA phones (Qualcomm 1920). A friend of mine has Bel Atlantic CDMA phone, and his has the same quality problem. I sounds like the person talking is running or is short of breath. I am not sure if it is caused by the vocoders or what"
ATT service is so bad in NYC that there is a class action suit. The sprint service has its own set of problems, but BAM is clearly a superior system. My mother has OMNIPOINT and its terrible too. I know at least half a dozen people who have recently escaped TDMA to sign up with BAM for all the reasons you claim dont exist. On this point you are way of base.
