As I said I was speaking from a limited experience. The few times I spoke with my nanny when she was on her AT&T cell phone, I did not notice from the sound quality that she was on a cell phone. Maybe it was off-peak.

But as far as Bell Atlantic and Sprint, are you saying that you have never noticed some voice quality degradation? For example, when you hear a sound with steady pitch, but it comes across as slightly fluctuating? It doesn't distract, but you can't help but notice it.

You notice it when you are on a land-line and you are speaking with someone on the cell phone, not as much the other way around. One instance I can notice on the cell phone is when I am dialing, the dialing tone is slightly fluctuating (or oscilating, or whatever the correct expression is).

About Omnipoint, I too have heard generally only negative experiences. But not about AT&T. People are generally positive about AT&T, Sprint and Bell Atlantic, with Bell Atlantic generally getting the most favorable opinions.
