Has anyone had any experience moving their account to another brokerage by just writing a check on their E-Trade account for the balance in the account (assuming you have no open positions)? Seems to me that this would be the best way out, instead of waiting for them to "transfer" the funds... With the luck I've had lately, they would take a month or two to get that done, as well as come up with some outrageous "transfer charge"... Any help appreciated!! BP
