I loved being called names - funny names. My mother's particular favorite was was "snigglefritz." I liked it so much I called my own kids "snigglefritz."(Just don't ask me what it means.) Also "honeybunch," or "rinkydinkytinky," or any other nonsense syllables that came to mind...Then the pet names that fit the particular child's personality: the Lego addict was "Busy Paws," etc.

In short, I agree that what you call a child is very important. The name can either build him up, or tear him down. (Or her.)
