Gentleman,
Since you are so sure you have found a great short candidate, I will try to be dissenting voice since it is clear that none of you have any idea about this company.
On the v-chip:this has been convered ad nauseum for several years. it is a very old story. As for your comments that you talked to the "real" v-chip inventor; I'm sure that Mr. Collings has good intentions, but what he doesn't have is the fundamental most basic and broad patent covering the v-chip implementation that the FCC mandated 2 Marches ago. Soundview Technologies owns this broad based patent. Any other technology such as Tri-Vision's downloadable software is considered an "add-on" feature. Period. There is no question as to whether this is true or not. It is fact. if you've been following this, then you also know that the soundview attornies are the best in the business and have never lost a case and took this on contingency. Recent talk is that the major 4 OEM's have agreed in pricipal to license soundview. Licesing fees should be in the area of $1.50 per TV. Do the math, there are 28M new TV's sold each year in the USA. You'll come up with about $2/share for ACRI. I expect to hear about these deals within a few weeks.
As per you warrant comment, you are right; the warrants may be a drag on the stock. However, if you know the warrant holders as I do, you also know that most of them have already sent their money to the company to exercise. Since volume has been so strong, any selling they might have done to raise cash is mainly complete.
As per ACRI's other interests, the real value in my opinion is in Combi-Matrix, Greenwhich Information Tech., and soundbreak.com. Combi-Matrix owns intellectual property relating to the bio-chip, a technology that allows you to do chemistry and bio-chemistry on a computer chip. See AFFX for comparison. Combi-Matrix technology is patent protected and is considered technologically superior to AFFX. Recent patent infringment suits won by AFFX will also help Combi-Matrix.
Soundbreak.com will, in my opinion, pave new inroads on the internet for the music industry which is completely behind this venture. They are well funded (continue to watch for developments) and well supported.
Greenwhich Info. may be the most exciting company they own. Greenwhich owns key patents (some just recently granted) in the area of video and audio on demand implementation. They are talks with the likes of MSFT and ATHM to assemble a master licensing agreement. The likes of Broadcast.com infringe on their patents now.
As for ACRI as a whole, this is where you may really miss the point: there are so many potential IPO's and other financings that might be done, that Wall Street has taken notice. there are too many potential revenue sources for the likes of a Merrill Lynch (see ACRI board memeber, Tom Aiken) to ignore them. I believe that this is the money now lining up behind this stock.
Before you make an investment decision, at least know the facts. it's been fun for me to watch so many people with your same comments realize that they were wrong. Perhaps the stock has gotten ahead of itself, but then again, maybe not. do you really want to be short a company that can announce deals any day that would lock in $2/share for the next several years per year? good luck boys! |
