That's really scary, that big of a climb in so short a time. Under "normal" market circumstances I would say "what goes up, must come down", but the consensus seems to be that the POG was being held down. Maybe with this breakout, once the shorts do what they gotta do, gold will return to its "actual" value range.
How much of a factor is Y2K in all this? Is gold the action spot for the fall, and then come January/February the whole thing falls apart again?
Other question is: Do we get Greenspanned today? Consensus among the big banks in the states is no rate change but a bias change upwards, according to CNBC about 45 minutes ago.
