Howdy TK, You've asked some very good questions that could have several correct answers - if we were writing a text book. But, of course we're not and there is probably only one right answer to yesterday's churning. Again, the possible scenarios are many but I'll offer one that implies better times are just ahead for FNTN. If the market makers were looking at a very large block buy order from someone wanting in @ below .40 it could have enticed them to work the price into that range filling the order during the day. If this is correct we may see the price linger below .40 until the order is filled or until some good news creates new small investor buying and forces the price above the block order buying range.
