Thought I'd log on long enough to give my 2cent speculation as to what was going on in friday's trading.

I think it was a fund swap. One fund sells to a sister fund so that fund A can record the capital loss this year. Must be done by Oct 31st so it is that time of year. Fund B now holds the shares at a low price so a significant capital gain is possible for them. The shares are still owned by the same institution just registered in a different fund now.

That is the type of transaction that could see a large number of shares go across the board with no price movement up or down.
