OT: Henry yer Bunkerism was so apropos!
Jorj gave some basic SI grub advice recently when pouting about some measly & marginal palindrome grub didn't win me any thread notice. He said (appx.) "a grub is best followed up by blatant self-promotion". Jorj did at last grudgingly compliment the grub obliquely, when it was referenced as the source of the Luck in a later post outlining the details of getting a ring AND an answer at The Mojave Phone Booth. Cornering Thread Kudos by inclusion with an earned Source was the only way. Ya Gotta Do What Ya Gotta Do.
Jorj kindly complimented me here about the bogart grub, even going so far as "raise the bar" & Joe stopped by to mention it special. Tell ya a secret- Jorj & Joe know da*n well what i'm up to, so they can't B trusted either.
A Sad Tale Of Corruption...went up against sharpshooter grubs like Joe & Bluesnowshoe, couldn't stay content with their crumbs for long. So, as Players Sometimes Do, had to sink so low as to WIN However & get away with it by insistence. i ' m n o t p r o u d o f t h i s.
Nailing grubs no one wants, bogarting, bending the rules are the only ways i can get 'em except sometimes night-hunting or serendipity gets me a decent grub.
But A Win Is A Win Is A Win.
So then comes the challenge of squeezing undeserved Kudos from threadmates by subtly utilizing questionable methods.
To pout, to insist, to hype, to include, to point at irrelevant examples, to craft will-o-the-wisps and Jolly Rogers with the #s no one else wants (e.g. the #49er grub)... Hey Coach It's The Best I Can Do!!
So Henry, while that's My Kind Of Fun i DO realize these "Not Good Enoughs" don't rate a display in The Trophy Case but happy to get some smiles from The Refs anyway!
