Well of course the Japanese markets are closed. They're famous for it. And we're famous for buying all the Japanese cars and electronics we can get.
Tell me what you think of this: I need new lights for my new house. I want new coach lights for the outside by the front doors, new light kits for the ceiling fans, and a few new lamps. So we spent the weekend shopping, Home Depot, Hechinger's, which is the local chain, and some department stores, and I can't find anything not made in China. Zip, nada, zilch, rien.
And we've bought a lot of lamps made in China over the past few years, and most of them have broken, so I wanted to buy American. No can do. "Made in China to our specifications" is the best we can do. It says "Listed with UL laboratories" on the box, not sure what that means, but it's not the same thing as "Tested at UL laboratories," I know. |
