levy,

In your scenario - reading a thread then wanting to send a pmail - there's no reason to use use your browser's 'back' button 5 times... When sending a pmail, a separate javascript window opens and after you've completed the pmail, just close that window and you are right back to where you started automatically - in the original window. (Isn't this what you're suggesting as a new feature? This is how it's always been done, as far as I know.)

Or try one of these instead:

1) Right click on the 'back' button on your browser, left click on the post that you want to return to, (or any other URL that you've been to recently). You don't need to click numerous times on the 'back' button, just once on the specific page you want to revisit.

2) Right click on the user's name to which you want to send the pmail, and select "Open in new window" from the mouse menu. A new javascript window will open with the user's profile, and you can select "send private message" and proceed as usual in the new window. Then, close that javascript window after you send the pmail and return to the original window.(I do this a lot when reading a thread that has a link to another thread or site in a post. This allows you to go off on a tangent without losing your place on the original thread you were reading.)

I seem to recall you're using Mac, so I don't know if this applies to you... I'm running Communicator 4.61 and any of the 3 methods above work well for me. Hope this helps...
