Note that this latest statement of Merrill changes an opinion issued immediately after the first earthquake. In the earlier opinion from Merrill, anyone reading it would have thought the damage to ALL COMPANIES was equally massive, whereas now we know that was not the case, and that the UMC factory used by SNDK came through with light damage and only momentary disruption caused more by lack of power than by damage to the structure or equipment. The more recent evaluation will eventually help persuade investors who do not frequent this thread to take another look.
