The new iMac DV also sports support for DVD video and DVD-ROM's. The CD-ROM mechanism in the regular iMac has been replaced with a DVD drive with digital circuitry all the way up to the monitor. Jobs indicates the quality of a DVD played on the iMac DV exceeds the quality of the same movie shown on a consumer DVD player connected to a television with an NTSC or S-video connection. Jobs demonstrated the iMac DV's ability to play back DVD movies by playing A Bug's Life, an computer-animated Disney film produced by Jobs' other company, Pixar.
