v one more point as the comments by an experienced people reflect (mr mark and sandintoes) once you ask the user to do any more than a simple click there is room for error so the goal I think should be to keep it as simple as possible...as a mac user I know that if I pull down an open in separate window sometimes that saves me a step but I tend to forget when that helps since that is not always the case..I think the goal should be to have everything a click away and if possible avoid the use of pulldowns to prevent confusion.....same can be said for need to know right vs left clicks on pcs....
