We were DJ news worthy today. C-Cube Microsys, Samsung To Show DVD Recorder Prototype 10/05/1999 Dow Jones News Service (Copyright (c) 1999, Dow Jones & Company, Inc.) NEW YORK (Dow Jones)-- C-Cube Microsystems Inc. (CUBE) and Samsung Electronics Co. will demonstrate a digital video disk recorder that allows video recording in the MPEG-2 format onto DVD-RAM discs at the KES '99 tradeshow Oct. 7. In a press release Tuesday, the companies said the demonstration is based on a prototype DVD recorder developed by Samsung using C-Cube's DVxplore and ZiVA-2 MPEG-2 technology.
