Gary: You were right.
JimL: APC which, if I remember correctly, recently said they would beat expectations, is cheap now. But...
Slider: HAL was a gift today. I bought it, again, again, and again.
then added a little FLC (12.5) for dessert. Luckily I sold it yesterday at 13.125. Until today, I would not have seriously considered buying HAL, too big and slugggish (usually).

IMHO HAL is better off now than before this quarter, having sold off poorly performing parts of Dressler, and having a nice pile of cash about $650mil after taxes, etc. The fact that they need to pay taxes means to me that they made a significant profit on these divestitures. And for anyone who reads this board, it shouldn't be a surprise that the majors have not yet significantly increased OS spending.

The fundamentals have not changed. But OSS and E&P stocks are now cheap. HAL is roadkill - I paid an average of about 34.25 today. I am a very conservative investor in one respect, having not been below 20% cash for years. Now at about 5%.

Take care all. winkman
